Board of Directors
The organization has an eight-member Board of Directors. Six out of the eight members of the Board represent the producers and are elected by the Annual General Meeting of the Shareholders. The other two members represent and are appointed by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. One of the six members representing the producers is elected by the Board as the Chairman of the Board.

System Management
The non-profit organization Green Dot (Cyprus), which manages the collective system for packaging, is also managing the Battery System, based on a Services Contract. AFIS benefits from the experience and organization of Green Dot Cyprus which is analyzed below.
The system is organized and staffed with professional personnel that belong to three main departments.
Commercial Department The Commercial Department which is responsible for the registration and management of the Shareholders and the Members of the System. This department also manages the communication of the system with the society and all the information and education programmes of the public according to the System’s philosophy and practice.
Financial Department The Financial Department is responsible for the Financial Management of the System as well as the of the Declaration processes of Companies – Members of the System. It is also responsible for the development of the System’s reports to the competent Authorities and for the development of the Organization’s IT systems.
Technical Department The technical Department is responsible for the organization and management of the System’s projects concerning the recovery and recycling of batteries. It is also responsible for carrying out invitation to tenders to select subcontractors, manage the Contracts and safeguard the smooth execution of works under the most favourable terms for the System.
